Raw Feeding
At Muppy’s Puppies, the health and safety of every dog in our care is our highest priority. While we understand and respect that many owners choose to feed a raw diet, raw food requires special handling procedures to protect staff and other pets from potential cross-contamination.
Please review our policy below:
• Raw Diet Requirements
If your dog is fed a raw diet, the following guidelines must be followed:
- All meals must be fully pre-portioned at home
- Meals must be provided in sealed, disposable containers or freezer-safe bags
- Each container must be clearly labeled with your dog’s name and feeding instructions
- Food must arrive frozen or properly refrigerated
• Container Return & Washing
For health and sanitation reasons:
- Muppy’s Puppies does not wash or return raw food containers
- All disposable containers and bags will be discarded after use
- Reusable food storage containers will not be accepted
This policy helps prevent cross-contamination and ensures the safety of all dogs in our facility.
• Food Handling & Safety
Raw diets carry naturally occurring bacteria such as Salmonella and Listeria. Our team follows strict food-handling procedures to minimize risk; however, by choosing to provide raw food, owners acknowledge and accept any inherent risks associated with raw feeding.
• Alternative Option
If preferred, owners may provide a shelf-stable kibble or pre-packaged commercial fresh food during their dog’s stay.
